Frontend Developer with Design Skills (m/f/x) 100%

We are looking for a Frontend Developer with Design Skills (m/f/x) in order to strengthen our international marketing team and to support the Team Lead Digital Business with creative marketing communication developments at our headquarters in Basel, Switzerland.

In your day-to-day work, you will be working closely with our brand managers, designers and other key stakeholders. You will not only be contributing to our ambitious digital transformation roadmap but also drive and implement the company’s global digital strategy and vision with execution against the objectives set by the global marketing division and transform marketing campaigns into tailored content in state-of-the-art quality. We are seeking a highly motivated team member to support and accelerate digital consumer engagement strategies and significant long-term growth for our brand portfolio of premium cigars and accessories.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the global marketing team in the implementation of cross-media advertising campaigns and production of digital advertising material such as landing pages and content pages (using Shogun & Zmags with the help of HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript) ensuring customer engagement, brand consistency and a positive customer experience
  • Optimising our e-commerce, brand and corporate websites using different Commerce/CMS & Page Builders (BigCommerce, Shogun, Zmags, ExpressionEngine, Shopware 6)
  • Implementing world-class digital services across multiple platforms
  • Developing creative solutions to problems that fulfill user, business & technical goals and needs
  • Working closely with the teams of brand management, e-commerce, commercial, IT, legal, corporate communications and external agencies
  • Creating interactive reporting dashboards and different types of visualisations
  • Uploading and organising assets in digital asset management system according to guidelines
  • Contributing to an interdisciplinary team of designers, software developers, business and brand strategists, ensuring that design specifications are implemented globally
  • Staying up-to-date and generating new ideas to draw audience’s attention

Qualifications:
You are experienced in programming display ads and web applications with HTML5/CSS3 and JavaScript. You are familiar with responsive layouts, usability and user experience principles and have a high quality awareness. In your daily work, you are flexible, pragmatic, analytic, hands-on, and above all, result-focused. You are a motivated, highly organised, conscientious team player who performs well under pressure and who shows a genuine interest in premium products. Additionally, you can offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 3+ years in-depth knowledge and experience of user interface development for B2B/B2C applications, preferably e-commerce, e-learning and rich web apps/sites
  • Ideally, you have completed an apprenticeship as a media technician or working experience in a design-related discipline
  • Experience with git and at least one collaboration tool (github/gitlab/bitbucket)
  • Commerce/CMS & page builder knowledge (BigCommerce, Shogun, Zmags, ExpressionEngine, Shopware)
  • Know-how of headless solutions & progressive web apps
  • Experience with web frameworks (Vue and/or React and/or Angular)
  • Knowledge of web-based technologies and their impact on the feasibility of design solutions, including the capacities and limitations of web technologies CSS3, scripting and other technologies such as HTML 5, XML, ActionScript, JavaScript, Webkit and CMS
  • Work experience in a cross-functional team
  • A keen eye for aesthetics, details and accuracy
  • Fluency in English (mandatory), German is highly desirable
  • A background in working within a highly regulated environment with a sensitivity to comply with data protection regulations is a plus
